A new chapter was added to the history of Indian two-wheeler industry on Wednesday when Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. unveiled Activa 125 BS VI. Noteworthy, Activa 125 BS VI is Honda’s first Bharat Stage VI compliant two-wheeler and is developed with as much as 26 new patent applications. The launch took place much ahead of the BS VI April 2020 deadline in a star-studded ceremony graced by Bollywood 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar and 'Pink' actress Taapsee Pannu, along with Noriaki Abe, Managing officer & Chief Officer, Motorcycle Operations, Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Minoru Kato, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. and Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.
PRICE: ACTIVA 125 BS VI may be priced 10-15 per cent more than the BS IV version. The current version of the scooter is priced upto Rs 64,733 (ex showroom Delhi).
AVAILABILITY: The all new Activa 125 BSVI will be available for sale towards the end of 2nd quarter of 2019-20.
WARRANTY: Honda will offer a special 6 year warranty package (3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty) on Activa 125 BSVI.
ENGINE: 125cc PGM-FI HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine boosted by Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). "A performance accelerator to the HET engine, Honda Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology optimizes energy output by maximizing efficient combustion and minimizing friction with a silent start & a smooth eco-friendly engine," says Honda.
SILENT START: ACG starter ensures a silent start. "It starts the engine jolt free via the same AC generator used to generate electricity and charge the battery while riding. This eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor, thus there is no gear meshing noises," says Honda.
DIGITAL METER: Interactive digital analoge to share real-time informatics. "It gets advanced with 3 New real time informatics like Range (displays distance one can travel with existing fuel in tank), Average (for overall fuel consumption display) & Real-time Fuel Efficiency for a rich riding experience. The meter displays details like Total Trip, Clock, ECO Indicator and Service Due Indicator with an On-Board Diagnostic feature of Malfunction light NEW which alerts the rider in case of serious malfunctions in the vehicle needing immediate attention," says Honda.
NEW TECH : Idling stop system & sidestand indicator with engine inhibitor. "An another First for Honda models in India. The Idling Stop System automatically switches the engine off at traffic light and other brief stops, eliminating unnecessary fuel consumption and resulting in lesser emission. Engine can easily be re-started with simple twist of the throttle," says Honda.
