Has Tesla's Model X electric SUV arrived in India?
Tesla models are being manufactured at its production facility at Freemont in the United States.
Although Elon Musk is yet to draw his plans for official launch of Tesla in India, it looks like the company's electric car has arrived in the country, said a report.
"The highly-awaited Tesla Model X electric SUV has unofficially marked its presence in India for the first time," reported Financial Express.
Tesla models are being manufactured at their production facility at Freemont in the United States.
As per Tesla's official wesbite, Model X SUV is the safest, quickest and most capable sport utility vehicle in history. Designed as a family car without compromise, Model X comes with standard all-wheel drive, ample seating for up to seven adults, standard active safety features, and up to 295 miles of range on a single charge.
Tesla Model X is the quickest SUV in production, capable of accelerating from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds.
The company states that this car has driving range of 474 km in a single charge with sedate driving.
The car is stated to be the first SUV to achieve a 5-star safety rating in every category and sub-category, the lowest probability of occupant injury, and a rollover risk half that of any SUV on the road.
Apart from this, Tesla is powered with enhanced autopilot which includes Autosteer up to 90 mph, Auto Lane Change, Summon (beta), Lane Departure Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking.
Each door of Tesla Model X is featured with sensors to monitor the proximity of surroundings.
Further, Model X has also optimized solar tinting and an obstruction-free view creates unlimited visibility for the driver and up to six passengers.
Currently, Tesla Model X starts at a starting price of $73,800 and can go up to $128,300 (around ₹48 lakh to ₹83 lakh) depending on the variant.
An NDTV auto reported that the model arrived in India is a CBU and is expected to be priced well over Rs 1 crore after taxes.
