Tata Nano car still alive? Here is how many units Tata Motors sold in last six months

Tata Motors Nano small car remains out of production since January and only 1 unit has been sold in last six months according to the company's regulatory filing with BSE on Tuesday. Tata Motors has still not taken a formal decision on stopping production of the entry-level car, saying it continues to sell the car as per people's demand.
According to the filing, last time it produced Nano was in December 2018 when it rolled out 82 units from Sanand plant. Since then, from January to June, the company has not manufactured Nano.
As far as the sales of Nano is concerned, it was only in February, during January-June period in which, Tata Motors was able to sell just one unit of the small car. While the company still claims that it has not taken a formal decision to stop the production.
The company produced just one unit of the Nano and sold three units in domestic market in June 2018. While, after that Tata is manufacturing Nano in Sanand plant based on market demand and has not planned anything about Nano's manufacturing or sales yet.
Tata's Nano was unveiled in January 2008 at the Auto Expo with a tag of being a pocket friendly car, but could not deliver up to people's expectations till date. The car was launched in the market in March 2009 with an initial price of close to Rs 1 lakh for the basic model despite cost escalations in several years.
