Airtel stirs competition against RJio with launch of Rs 129 pack; should you buy it?
This Rs 129 pack will take on RJio’s Rs 98 pack, but one should ask whether it is worth purchasing this Airtel plan.
Telecom giant Bharti Airtel has once again fuelled competition in terms of heavy data and unlimited packs against Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio, with yet another launch of new recharge pack priced at Rs 129 for prepaid customers. It looks like Airtel customers are more interested in Hello Tunes, which is why Airtel has unveiled packs that allow access to unlimited Hello Tunes service. This Rs 129 pack will take on RJio’s Rs 98 pack, but one should ask whether it is worth purchasing this Airtel plan.
According to TelecomTalk report, Airtel’s Rs 129 pack is offering unlimited voice calls, 1GB of data, 100 SMS per day and more importantly, it comes bundled with Hello Tunes pack. This plan offers benefits in-line with the Rs 93 pack, which Airtel offered to select users in the past, but the price of the same plan is now changed to Rs 99, and in some circles, it’s being offered as an open market one.
Also the new pack gives unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit even on roaming calls. Apart from this, the pack gives 1GB data in 4G network for the validity period of 28 days.
There are no 1GB data plan in RJio network, however, the company is offering Rs 98 pack which gives 2 GB data for 28 days. Total 42 GB data is being offered under this plan. Apart from this, the plan also has unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS and complimentary subscription to Jio apps.
There is a Rs 175 pack of Airtel which gives 2GB data for 28 days.
With the above mentioned factors, it can be said RJio is way cheaper than Airtel, once again outrunning the Sunil Mital led company.
Recently Airtel launched a Rs Rs 219 pack, where it is 1.4GB data per day in the network of 3G/4G for a validity period of 28 days. The plan also gives unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, alongside 100 SMS per day in local and STD. Apart from this, the pack also offers unlimited hello tune which gets activated in four hours of the recharge.
Airtel's plan takes on RJio’s Rs 198 pack, but the catch is that the Mukesh Ambani led company continues to dominate the data pack space. With Rs 198 recharge from RJio, a customer gets 2GB data per day for 28 days, along with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. RJio also gives complimentary subscription of Jio apps in this plan. A total of 56GB data is offered by RJio.
