BSNL gives Swadeshi Samridhi SIM cards to Patanjali staff; freebies on offer

On the occasion of International Yoga day which was celebrated this week, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) distributed free Swadeshi Samridhi SIM cards to Baba Ramdev's Patanjali employees. On this day people gather to perform Yoga exercises and this opportunity was taken by BSNL to promote its new alliance with Patanjali. International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is usually celebrated on 21st June of every year since its inception in 2015. This day was unanimously declared by United Nations General Assembly. On this day even Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet performed Yoga on an open platform along with others. 

BSNL tweeted saying, “The launch of  Patanjali Swadeshi Samriddhi Card at @BSNL_CHTD on #WorldYogaDay. Many Patanjali employees participated this event.”

The company added, “Sim cards were distributed by GM   (S&M,CM) #BSNL. This plan offers unlimited calls from any part of the country, 2 GB/day and 100 SMS @ just Rs.144.”

Last month, Ramdev had launched Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card in alliance with BSNL. 

The data pack, named Patanjali BSN - 144, gives free unlimited voice calls, no roaming charges, 2GB data per day and 100 SMS per day. This offer will be available in denominations of 3 namely Rs 144 pack for 30 days, Rs 792 pack for 180 days and Rs 1,584 for 365 days.  

While many would want to avail this offer, it needs to be noted that this offer currently is available for only Patanjali staff members. 

This special plan is available for members of Patanjali organisations like Bharat Swabhiman, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mahila Prakostha, Yuva Bharat, Patanjali Kisan Seva and Swadeshi Samrudhi Card holder. 

But after a full-fledged launch, reportedly it is expected that people will even receive 10% rebate on Patanjali products with this card. 

The card also comes with the medical and life insurance covers of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively.

For activation, customers can visit nearest CSC/ retailers along with Employee ID of Patanjali. One can get, membership fee documents, receipt of above mentioned organisations and Swadeshi Samrudhi card, etc.
