Diwali bonanza! BSNL offers Rs 399 STV prepaid plan for just Rs 100 to take on RJio, Airtel; but there's a catch
This BSNL offer is an attempt to lure new customers and only those who fall under this category can avail the prepaid pack.
While everybody is busy comparing Reliance Jio with private telcos like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular, one thing is noteworthy and that is the fierce fight that BSNL is putting up. Despite being a state-owned firm, BSNL is the only company that has looked to give neck-to-neck competition to its much bigger rivals. BSNL has launched a series of offers for the festive season which is getting kicked off with Diwali next month. In latest development, BSNL has gone the extra mile and is now providing its Rs 399 STV prepaid plan for just Rs 100. This BSNL offer is an attempt to lure new customers and only those who fall under this category can avail the prepaid pack. Interestingly, the BSNL Rs 399 STV prepaid offer comes with a catch which can limit its popularity.
To avail the BSNL's latest offer, a new customer will first have to take a new sim card managed by the company.
Also, this offer is limited to customers located in limited number of ares - the offer is available only in states like Uttar Pradesh ( East & West), Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
This is not all, the BSNL offer will be provided by LPG dealers in the state, and a customer will have to produce the BSNL coupon printed on the domestic LPG bill given by state-owned Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum.
Simply put, a new customer will have to produce a BSNL coupon which will be given by LPG bills formed by only these two oil and gas firms. Once the customer will give the coupon bill, then the company will issue a new sim card and make its first recharge of Rs 399 for which they will pay only Rs 100. The new sim card will be given on BSNL's touch point in the above mentioned states.
Anupam Shrivastava, CMD BSNL in a press statement said, “Mega offer is a truly unlimited welcome-gift to new and MNP prepaid customers where @ Rs 1.35 per day for 74 days,” reported by BGR.
Coming to the Rs 399 voucher's plan, it will offer 1GB data per day in 2G/3G network for 74 days period. Then there will be unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls even including to users in Mumbai and Delhi. Additionally 100 SMS per day is also available.
Both Airtel and RJio have a new Rs 399 plan, and looking at their offer BSNL has surely made its own plan in the same range quite exciting. However, not available to everyone, but good news for customers in those states. BSNL is only better when it comes to giving the recharge pack at Rs 100, apart from that it is no better than what Airtel and RJio is offering on full amount.
Airtel's Rs 399 plan gives 1.4GB data per day for 70 days. Along with there is unlimited locals, STD, roaming income and outgoing calls. A 100 SMS per day will also be given.
On the other, RJio surpasses both the companies, as it gives 1.5GB data for 84 days at Rs 399. It also offers unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day.
