Ford India on Wednesday reported 47.5% jump in total sales at 17,279 units in May 2016 as compared to 11,714 units sold in same month last year.
The automaker's domestic sales rose 22.3% to 5,780 units last month from 4,726 units in the same period a year ago, Ford India said in a statement.
The company's exports during the month zoomed by 64.55% to 11,499 units from 6,988 units in May 2015, it added.
Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales, and Service) Anurag Mehrotra said, focus on transforming "the Ford brand in India with transparency and attentiveness at its core" has paid off.
"Besides our fresh and dynamic product portfolio, Ford is focused on an enriching value of ownership for Indian customers through transparent initiatives like Service Price Promise and Parts Pricing Calculator which are now available on our website," he added.
