Is Reliance Jio data truly cheaper than Airtel, Vodafone?
Reliance Jio is not offering Rs 50 per GB in any of its mobile plans and in fact the lowest plan being offered by it is Rs 67 per GB, according to new research.
Reliance Industries has repeated history.
History repeats itself. Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries would surely see resonance in this adage with people thronging the company's stores like they did nearly 15 years ago.
People are queuing outside Reliance Digital stores to buy Reliance Jio SIM cards, LYF phones or its routers to access cheap 4G and make calls 'absolutely free'.
Ambani, last week, said that Reliance Jio's (RJio) 4G price of Rs 50 per GB is the cheapest, not only in India but across the globe.

While Reliance Jio claims to offer the lowest data tariffs, an analysis of prices offered by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India paint an interesting picture.
RJio's plans of Rs 3,999 and Rs 4,999 offer 60 GB and 75 GB data, respectively. This comes to Rs 67 per GB.
As against this, Airtel's Rs 2,000 plan offers 20 GB of data, or, Rs 100 per GB.
The cheapest data plan on Vodafone India is 60 GB for Rs 4,999 which comes to Rs 83 per GB.
Even as telecom companies have said that they will revise their prices to better compete with RJio, they claim that their data charges are already better than RJio.
