L&T Construction bags contract for Navi Mumbai Airport
L&T Construction received engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport from GVK’s step down subsidiary Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAPL).
L&T Construction received engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport from GVK’s step down subsidiary Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAPL). Under the contract, L&T Construction will complete cut and fill works, terminal works including departure & arrival forecourts, airfield development works (a 3,700-metre-long south runway, apron systems, taxiway systems, airfield ground lighting &other facilities), landside facilities (roads, multilevel car parking), and utilities & support facilities, a statement from GVK stated.

The Passenger Terminal Building that has been designed with complex forms by the famous and much-awarded Zaha Hadid Architects is being developed to initially handle a capacity of 10 MPA (million passengers per annum). The project will subsequently be enhanced to handle 20 MPA.
