Maruti Suzuki's November sales rise by 12%; domestic sales up 14%
This month, Maruti sold 9,67,67 units of passenger vehicle, rising by 8.1% year-on-year (yoy). From the total - compact vehicles like Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno and Dzire took the limelight increasing by 11% to 49,431 units. Utility vehicles once again were the highlight for Maruti.
Car maker Maruti Suzuki on Thursday said that it sold 1,35,550 units of vehicles in November 2016, a rise of 12.2% from 1,20,824 units sold in the similar month of the previous year.
For the month of November, domestic sales witnessed growth of 14.2% by selling 1,26,325 units, compared to 1,10,599 units of November 2015.
This month, Maruti sold 9,67,67 units of passenger vehicle, rising by 8.1% year-on-year (yoy). From the total - compact vehicles like Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Baleno and Dzire took the limelight increasing by 11% to 49,431 units.
However, super compact and mid-size vehicles this month recorded decline of 10.3% and 1.4% on year-on-year basis to 3017 units and 5433 units respectively.
Utility vehicles once again were the highlight for Maruti. The company sold 17,215 units, up by 98.1% from 8,688 units sold last year same month.
Also, Maruti sold a total of 105 units of its newly launched Super Carry.
Where domestic sales cheered up, the export sales were negative. Maruti saw decline of 9.8% in export with sales of 9,225 units from 10,225 units of November 2015.
Year-to-date, Maruti has sold 1,036,256 vehicles, up by 9.1% against 949,697 units in the same period of the previous year.
At 10.06 am, shares of Maruti was trading at Rs 5252 per share, slumped by 11.45 points or 0.22%. However minutes after the November sales announcement, it's shares reached 5,305 - mark.
