To promote the digital payments in the country, Amul on Monday announced partnership with mobile wallet major, Mobikwik.

The company in a release said that the association will help customers of Amul to make cashless payments using MobiKwik at 7000 Amul outlets and 3 lakh Amul Multi brand outlets & retailers across the country.

R S Sodhi, Managing Director, Amul, said, "This will help us provide remunerative and quick returns to our 3.6 millions farmers or milk producers whose livelihood depends upon the sale of milk to the Amul cooperative structure."

In the wake of demonetisation and government's push towards 'digitalisation', Mobikwik has added 1,50,000 retailers to its networks in the month of November and now has network reach of 2,50,000 retailers in India.
