Passengers face hard times traveling with Air India, 50 flights delayed now; check-in conks off for three hours

Air India flight was delayed due to a technical glitch in the check-in software that hampered operations across its network including at Delhi Airport (IGI) yesterday, leaving thousands of flyers frustrated. More than 50 flights were delayed and check-in systems were shut down for three hours on Saturday noon. Air India then twitted to say, “Due to unexpected network connectivity issues at SITA #Atlanta #Datacenter , which had a #worldwide impact, 25 flights were delayed from 1210 hrs to 1510 hrs on #Airindia network. Operations are normal now.”
Flight delay was not acceptable to the passengers traveling so they complained about the delayed services through twitter.

Executive also said that Air India is registered with SITA systems which developed a technical glitch at its server in Atlanta. He added that along with Air India many other carriers were affected too.
Till afternoon 25 flights were delayed as per the executive but many more flights had the cascading effect. Executive added that the effect would be mostly in the domestic sector.
“We experienced a complex network connectivity issue at one of our data centers today (June 23) impacting primary and secondary routes, which resulted in some services to our customers being disrupted. The connection has now been restored by our network provider and services are returning to normal operations,” A spokesperson at Geneva-headquartered SITA told ET.
