Reliance Jio adds more subscribers in May than Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone combine
Mukesh Ambani backed Reliance Jio had garnered more subscribers in the month of May than its competition Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone combined.

Newcomer Reliance Jio continued its robust subscriber addition for the ninth month in a row from its inception in September 2016.
The company added more subscribers in the month of May in comparison to Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone combined, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) subscription data report showed.
Jio’s net subscriber addition in the month was 47,86,824 while India's telecom major Bharti Airtel added 2,098,006; BSNL added 1,359,463 and Vodafone added 1,131,435 subscribers.
The total number of subscribers added by the latter three amounted to 45,88,904 only.
Jio has been topping the net subscriber additions charts every month since September, as per TRAI reports.
In the month of April the company had introduced its Dhan Dhana Dhan offer of free calling and heavy data plans for three months. Its flagship tariff plan under this scheme was the Rs 309 plan and the Rs 509 plan which would give Prime subscribers up to 2GB per day.
Just last week the company revised its tariff plans under Dhan Dhana Dhan. For the price of Rs399 the company is now offering subscribers 84GB data for 84 days.
The company has a total of 117,338,455 or 11.7 crore subscribers as on May 31, 2017. Jio’s market share stood at 9.94% maintaining its place as the fourth largest telecom operator in the country.
In the month of April the company grabbed 9.58% market share while in March it had 9.29% market share.
The company has been named as the fastest growing telecom operator with a growth rate of 4.25%, a report by Exchange4Media said on Monday.
