In some good news for those stuck at home during coronavirus lockdown, it has been announced that sanitizers, masks, packaged foods, grocery items and medicines are now available on ShopClues.com. In the wake of the 21-day lockdown to effectively deal with the coronavirus pandemic, e-commerce platform ShopClues will offer essential items starting at Rs 49, a company release said.
The service is being offered with immediate effect, the release said. The Gurugram-headquartered company will make available essentials such as sanitisers, masks, packaged foods, groceries medicines and personal hygiene products, the release said.
“In this time of need, we want to use our platform that has a vast reach across Tier II/III/IV cities of India to be able to buy these essential items from our portal," the release said quoting Sanjay Sethi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ShopClues.
"Further to the Prime Minister's assurance that essentials will continue to be available during these difficult times, we want people to stop panicking and have access to these items. Please stay indoors. Stay safe and let us reach you,” he added.
The 21-day lockdown because of the growing coronavirus disease menace has resulted in restrictions on trasportaion and supply chain activities.
This has resulted in panic buying and hoarding among people with regard to their daily, essential needs, the release said.
