Tata Motors' February sales rise 2% to 47,573 units

Tata Motors sold a total of 47,573 vehicles in the month of February 2017, rising by 2% as against 46,674 vehicles in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Domestic sales in this month were at 42,679 units, growing by 3% over 41,532 units in February 2016.
Tata Motors said that its passenger car segment recorded growth of 12% with sales of 12,272 units.

While sales from commercial vehicles for this month were down 1% sequentially, at 30,407 units.
Medium heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) demand picked up with 1% rise to 15,031 units. This was led by pre-buying on account of expected price increase led by BSIV implementation from 1st April.
However, sales from exports stood at 4,894 units, declining by 5% against 5,142 vehicles sold in the similar month of previous year.
Cumulatively sales of Tata Motors for the current fiscal is at 4,85,415 units, increasing by 6% versus 4,58,648 units sold in the corresponding period of previous year.
Shares of Tata Motors were among top losers on BSE on Wednesday closing at Rs 449.50 down by 1.55%.
