Vistara's special discount on airfare to J&K Police personnel; summer sale extended

Ecouraged with perhaps the response to its early monsoon sale, full-service airline Vistara has extended the special discount on airfare for the armed force personnel also to Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel, both serving and retired. Making an announcement on its twitter handle, Vistara said the move was praised by the J&K Police, and tweeted, "We thank @airvistara for responding to our request and extending discount in fares to our police personnel. A big thanks from Jammu and Kashmir police pariwar." 

The Vistara discount, which is up to 15 per cent on the adult base fare in economy class cabin, and is applicable for active and retired police personnel, is also available for three members of their family travelling with them on the same PNR. These members may include dependent parents, spouse and children from 2 to 26 years, the airline on its twitter handle stated. 

Earlier on August 15, 2016 the airline had announced the special discounts for active and retired armed forces personnel and their family members who travel together on Vistara.

Meanwhile, the airline has extended its early summer sale offer on popular demand. Vistara tweeted, "Sale extended on popular demand! Book your tickets now till 7th June midnight with special fares starting at ₹1,599 all-in. T&C apply. Hurry! Only limited tickets available."

The airline slashed its fares by up to 75 per cent in the limited period offer, after budget carrier GoAir had announced a special monsoon sale, offering customers fares as low as Rs 1,299 for domestic travel. 
 
Vistara's earlier stated, "Bookings under the sale scheme, wherein fares were lowered up to 75 per cent over normal fares across the network, are open for 24 hours, starting 0001 hours tonight for the travel between June 21 and September 27."

Notably, on the World Environment Day, the airline announced a ban on tobacco (gutka) connsumption onboard and its facilities, saying "At @airvistara, we take the environment seriously. The 50 per cent onboard disposable plastics reduction and low emissions aircraft are just a start. Cleanliness at all times is part of our matra. We have also banned chewing tobacco or 'gutka' consumption on board & at our facilities."
