7th Pay Commission latest news today: Yes, in another good news for certain government employees, it has been announced that they have got a big pay hike as per their demands. The Uttar Pradesh government has accepted the proposal of doctors and employees of King George Medical College (KGMC) and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute (RML) to provide them allowances equal to the 7th CPC pay scale. The decision to this effect was taken in a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, wherein the proposal was approved to give allowances to all doctors and employees of RML Institute and King George Medical College according to the 7th pay commission on the lines of PGI.
According to leaders of Employees Association, these 7th pay commission linked allowances that have been increased do not include travel, washing and nursing allowances. Doctors, however, would now start getting non-practising allowance (NPA). With this enhancement, there will be a difference of Rs 3000 to Rs 4000 in the salary of employees belonging to technical level officer.
Doctors' NPA approved
Former President of the UP PMS (Provincial Medical Services) Association, Dr Ashok Yadav, stated that the state government has already started giving salary equal to the 7th CPC pay scale to the PMS doctors. From March 2019, PMS doctors are also getting 20 per cent non-practicing allowance (NPA), besides the government has also issued orders (GO) for extending NPA to retired doctors from August 9, 2019.

Salary hike for PGI in January
Earlier in January this year, the UP cabinet had agreed to pay salary allowances to PGI doctors equal to AIIMS, where doctors are already being paid according to the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. According to Prof MS Ansari, General Secretary of the Faculty Forum, SGPGI, this hospital was built in 1983, and since then it has maintained its status of a premiere medical institute, involved in training, teaching, research and treatment similar to AIIMS.
