After Indian Railways shuts down Shatabdi Express, Air India steps in, set to start Agra-Jaipur flights
Air India flight operations between Agra and Jaipur will start from July 16, 2018. The national carrier will resume flight operations after four-month long hiatus.
Now, Agra residents and tourists will be able to fly to Jaipur directly soon, as Air India will start operating flights between the two cities. Flight operations will start from July 16, 2018. The flight operation will make life of tourists easier, as the Indian Railways recently withdrew Agra-Jaipur Shatabdi Express service.
After withdrawal of Shatabdi train, tourists had to go by road to Pink city, which took long hours. With this flight service, tourists will be able to travel the distance in 1 hour. The flight will be operating four days a week. It will take off from Jaipur in the morning at 6:50 am and land in Agra at 8 am, according to an India Today report. From Agra, the flight will take off at 8:30 am and land in Jaipur at 9:30 am.
ATR-72 aircraft will be deployed instead of the ATR-48 it was flying earlier due to the heavy passenger traffic on the route. Air India will o[perate flight on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Many tourists travel to Jaipur from Agra, therefore, it will be very easy and less time-consuming for them to travel to the Pink city now. It will also benefit tourism industry.
