Bharat box office collection day 7: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat had got off to a flying start at the box office, registering the highest opening day collections for a Eid as well as 2019 release. But, the film has been hit hard in its second week and it will be interesting to see if it can cross Rs 200 crore-mark amid World Cup fever and big Hollywood releases. Bharat had opened to a Rs 42.30 crore opening and has taken its overall collection to Rs 167.60 crore by the end of day 7. The film earned Rs 8.30 crore on Tuesday which is more than what most films earn on weekend.
Yet, there has been a sharp decline in Bharat's collection. However, it should cross Rs 175 crore on Wednesday itself. "#Bharat is steady on Day 7... Should cross ₹ 175 cr today [Day 8]... Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr, Sat 26.70 cr, Sun 27.90 cr, Mon 9.20 cr, Tue 8.30 cr. Total: ₹ 167.60 cr. India biz," movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The film has already become the second highest grosser of 2019, beating Akshay Kumar's Kesari and multi-starrer Total Dhamaal. It is now only behind Uri: The Surgical Strike. "#Bharat dips, after a long, rich weekend... Will have to speed up on remaining weekdays [Tue to Thu] and also in Weekend 2... Now second highest grosser of 2019, after crossing *lifetime biz* of #Kesari and #TotalDhamaal in 6 days," Adarsh tweeted.
However, the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial faces a challenging weekend ahead with crucial India vs Pakistan match lined up for Sunday. The encounter is likely to keep people at home, glued to their television sets. Also, Friday marks the release of new film in Men in Black franchise starring Chris Hemsworth. The actor is at the peak of his acting prowes after the success of Avengers and should draw audience to theatres.
"#Bharat eyes ₹ 175 cr+ in its *extended* Week 1... Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr, Sat 26.70 cr, Sun 27.90 cr, Mon 9.20 cr. Total: ₹ 159.30 cr. India biz... The crucial World Cup cricket match [#INDvPAK #CWC19] will make a big dent in biz on coming Sun [16 June]," Adarsh said in another tweet.
