Bharat box office collection: Salman Khan has added another feather to his cap as his latest release, Bharat, has become the 18th Bollywood film to cross Rs 200 crore mark. It took Bharat just 14 days (the film had released on Wednesday) to achieve this feat. By the end of Wednesday, Bharat had taken its overall collection to Rs 201.86 crore, becoming only the second film after 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' to breach the Rs 200 crore mark this year. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Uri remains the highest grosser of 2019 with over Rs 245 crore in its kitty.
Bharat had a massive opening on Eid day and ended up minting over Rs 42 crore on first day itself. Since then, the film has slowed down but continues to do well despite other big releases like 'Men in Black: International' and Game Over. Both the latter releases failed to draw viewers and are struggling at the box office.
Even though Bharat faces a massive challenge this week in the form of Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh, it should rake in another Rs 4 to 5 crores before the week ends. The film is set to go past the lifetime number of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 210 crores). However, it is still far away from Salman's other hit Kick (Rs. 232 crores).
It will also be interesting to see if Bharat could come closer to Uri's collection if not beat it. The film brings a sense of relief for Salman whose previous two releases - Race 3 and Tubelight didn't do well at the box office and were written off by the critics too.
Bharat also stars Sunil Grover and Katrina Kaif in important roles. It also ended a disastrous run for the actress who had back to back disappointments of Zero and Thugs of Hindostan. In both the films, Katrina just had an extended guest appearance. Ali Abbas Zafar too would be happy with Bharat's collection as it marks third consecutive hit for the director after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
