Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express flagged off by Dharmendra Pradhan
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has flagged off Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The new train is adorned with beautiful art showcasing the heritage and culture of Odisha on the exteriors of the train.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has flagged off Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The new train is adorned with beautiful art showcasing the heritage and culture of Odisha on the exteriors of the train. The designs have been placed in between the glass windows of the coaches on the exterior side, have been made such that each coach will have a distinct display. The train was flagged off by Pradhan from the Bhubaneswar Railway station.
There are also two strips on the top and bottom of the train coaches showcasing the designs in the local traditional form of 'Pattachitra'.
The project has been sponsored by National Aluminium Company (NALCO), which had recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with East Coast Railway (ECoR). Apart from this, he also launched an initiative under which the passengers can buy unreserved tickets from as many as 317 stations across Odisha in the Odia language, in addition to Hindi and English.

The step has been taken to help passengers who have problem reading the names of destination stations as well as the class of travel and train type which is written in Hindi or English. For this, the Indian Railways had sought support from CRIS in Kolkata, to prepare a database of the eight thousand station names in the Odia language script.
The service will be available in stations falling under the East Coast Railway, South Eastern Railway and South East Central Railways. The initiative is a part of Digital India initiative, under which the Railways will promote local vernacular languages.
As part of this initiative, the Indian Railways plans to sell more tickets in local language or language of the state from where it originates.
