Big announcement for students in Haryana! Free books for Class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th students from government

The Haryana Government has decided to extend its policy of giving free books to state-run school students up to class 12th. Earlier, the state government used to give free books, uniforms, school bags and stationery to state-run school students from class 1 to 8. Now, the state government will give free books to class 9th to class 12th students as well. Kanwar Pal, Education Minister, Government of Haryana made the announcement in this regard on Tuesday. the Haryana Education Minister said that after the implementations of the decision to give free books to class 9th to class 12th state-run schools, it will put around Rs 41.47 crore extra burden on the state government's exchequer.

While making the announcement, Kanwar Pal said that Haryana state-run schools have NCERT books for class 9th to class 12th and it requires around Rs 650 to Rs 700 per student. On the total number of students enrolled in class 9th to class 12th in Haryana state-run schools, the minister said that the total number of students enrolled in Haryana Government schools are 6,19,256. Kanwar Pal also mentioned that the state government has taken this decision, which is in line with the 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019' that bats for free education to class 8 to class 12 students. He said that the Haryana Government is implementing this 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019' in the state and free books to class 9th to class 12th students is a part of the 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019.'

The committee submitted its report in 2019, which is known as 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019'. The Kasturirangan Report recommended the central government to roll out the following features in the Indian education system at the national level. Those recommendations are — Reach, equity, quality, affordability and accountability. So, the 'Rashtriya Shiksha Niti-2019' aims to fix the loopholes in the Indian education system and the Haryana Government is trying to meet the aspirations of the K Kasturirangan report and enhance the quality and delivery of the higher education in the state.
