Big triumph for Indian Railways, fields Amitabh Bachchan in team after Sachin Tendulkar
The Central Railways has circulated a short video featuring Bachchan in which he can be seen appealing to passengers to follow safety rules and use foot over-bridges to cross the tracks.
After the tragic train accident in Amritsar on October 19, the Indian Railways has stepped up its campaign to make people aware of the dangers of walking or standing on the tracks. The Indian Railways has not only been using its social media handles to increase awareness among people, but it has now roped in Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan into its team to spread the message of safe train travel.
The Central Railways has circulated a short video featuring Bachchan in which he can be seen appealing to passengers to follow safety rules and use foot over-bridges to cross the tracks.
"Life doesn't give you a lifeline always," said the Big B in the video.
In the video, Bachchan also recalls his first train journey at the age of two. He said that as a two-year-old, he was mesmerised to see a train for the first time. He said that he still used to love seeing the train and recalled that he has travelled in Mumbai Locals in the initial phase of his career.
Bachchan lamented of not being able to travel in trains nowadays despite his willingness to do so.

Before Bachchan, the Indian Railways had roped in cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to spread awareness about various issues like crossing railway tracks carefully, dangers of trespassing, women's safety and cleanliness.
