BJP manifesto 2019 Live Updates: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto (Sankalp Patra) for Lok Sabha elections 2019. The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to start from April 11. Issues of development and national security are highlights of the BJP manifesto, which was released by top party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Amit Shah and senior leader Rajnath Singh. The BJP describes its manifesto as "Sankalp Patra".

13.07 pm: PM Modi says in order to develop India, "development has to be made into a mass movement, and a successful result of that is 'swachhta', today 'swachhta' is a mass movement."

- Ahead of the launch, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that first theme of the manifesto would be "kaam wali sarkar" (the government that works). The second theme would be "honest government" and the third theme would be "government that takes big decisions". BJP is expected to counter Congress' 'NYAY' scheme and announce several welfare plans.
- Meanwhile, BJP's Bihar ally the Lok Janshakti Party today promised extending job reservation in private sector, stern action against those involved in cow vigilantism and mob lynching, if elected to power in the coming Lok Sabha election. Releasing the party's manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections LJP chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said stern action would be taken against those found guilty of mob lynching and giving speeches which incite communal flare-up in the society.
The LJP manifesto also pitches for reservation in private sector. Paswan said that his party has promised to extend the benefits of reservation in the private sector. (With agency inputs)
