Cabinet approves introduction of Transgender Persons Bill

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the introduction of 'The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2016' in the Parliament on Wednesday, according to a Zee Business report.
The Bill protects and provides rights for transgenders by guaranteeing reservation in education and jobs, financial aid and social inclusion.
Here are some of the other approvals given by the cabinet:
1. Approval to Nayveli power plant project in Gathanpur, UP of 1980 megawatt (MW) costing Rs 18,240 crore.
2. Cabinet approves incorporation of Sagarmala Development Company under Companies Act with initial Authorised Share Capital of Rs 1,000 crore.
3. Approval of the installation of Ghatampur Thermal Power Project (GTPC) of 1980 MW capacity through a joint venture (JV) by Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (UPRVUNL).
4. Approval of the proposal for the acquisition of 24% shares of Ambuja Cements Ltd in its holding company-Holcim (India) Private Limited.
5. Approval to incorporation of Sagarmala Development Company under Companies Act with initial Authorised Share Capital of Rs 1,000 crore.
6. Cabinet approved signing of Air Services Agreement between India and Mozambique.
