Some states have been locked down in the wake of coronavirus after PM Narendra Modi's Janta Curfew call witnessed amazing response from people of various walks of life. Millions of people across the country stayed indoors on Sunday in an unprecedented shutdown on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for a 'Janata curfew' to help check the spread of coronavirus. After people welcomed Janta Curfew with open arms, various state governments decided to put their respective states under lock down. But, do you know even in the condition of lockdown some services called ESSENTIAL remain available. So, what are those services? Here is all you need to know:-
During lockdown period barring essential services, all government offices, educational institutes, autonomous bodies, business establishments, private offices, malls, shops, factories, godowns and public transport remain closed.
Moreover, the government from time to time evaluates the situation and redefine the essential services.
The services that have been declared as essential are medical, health and family welfare, medical education, home, intelligence/prison administration, police/armed force and para-military forces, personnel department and district administration, energy, urban development, food and civil supplies, disaster relief, fire services, civil defence, information, emergency services, telephone, internet, network services and IT-enabled services.
Postal services, banks, ATMs, insurance companies, e-commerce, print, electronic and social media, petrol pumps, LPG gas, oil agencies, medicines shops, medical equipment shops and medicine producing units, units related to agriculture production and animal fodder too have been classified as essential services.
