Coronavirus In India: The Ministry of Commerce has done the required amendment in export policy to ban the export of face masks, ventilators and textile raw material required for the making of face masks and ventilators.
Coronavirus In India: As India fights against Corona, the Indian government decided to ban the export of face masks, ventilators and textile raw material required for the making of face masks and ventilators. The Ministry of Commerce has done the required amendment in export policy in this regard. The ministry made the announcement of this amendment on March 2020 in a written press statement.
Making an announcement in regard to the amendment in export policy the Ministry of Commerce & Industry issued a press statement citing, " The export of Ventilators, Surgical/Disposable Masks (2/3 ply) and Textile raw material used for masks and coveralls has been prohibited with immediate effect."
A Notification issued by Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry says that amendments in this regard have been made in the Export Policy. All other items except surgical or disposable (2/3 ply) masks allowed in the Notification No.48 dated 25.2.2020 shall remain free for exports.
The COVID-19 virus has spread in more than 120 countries and the Indian Government is taking all possible measures to stop the proliferation of this pandemic at the earliest. Till date, 143 people have been found infected by Coronavirus in India. In fact, prime minister Narendra Modi has asked the Indian citizens to impose 'Janata Curfew' or self curfew on themselves and help to contain the Coronavirus entering their doorstep.
