In Tata Motors Range Rover, PM Narendra Modi arrives for meet with UK PM May

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on his three-nation tour of Europe, today arrived in London at 10 Downing Street for a breakfast meeting with his British counterpart Theresa May. PM Narendra Modi, who arrived in a Tata Motors' Range Rover, to meet the British PM, who greeted him by saying, "Very welcome to London, Prime Minister" with the customary handshake, said a PTI report.  
 
The two leaders are expected to discuss wide range of issues of mutual interest, including cross-border terrorism, visas and immigration. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the return of illegal immigrants, which had expired in 2014, will be officially renewed to take into account biometric, and other developments in the field, along with a range of nearly a dozen MoUs across different sectors, said the report. 
 
Earlier on Monday, the Prime Minister arrived in Sweden's capital Stockholm on the first leg of his three-nation tour of Europe. This was the first prime ministerial visit from India to Sweden in 30 years after the visit of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1988.

After attending an Indian community event in Stockholm late on Tuesday night, PM Narendra Modi reportedly departed for London on the second leg of his tour.

With an aim to have greater partnership with Sweden making use of the opportunities offered by India`s development programmes, the two nation yesterday signed a Joint Action Plan and an Innovation Partnership following a bilateral summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Swedish counterpart Stefan Lofven in Stockholm. 

In joint address to the media with Lofven, Modi said that Sweden has been a strong contributor to the Make in India programme from the beginning. The prime minister also recalled that the Swedish Prime Minister himself led a delegation to attend Make in India summit in Mumbai in 2016.
