Flexi Fare Scheme: The Indian Railways has decided to completely remove flexi fares from trains with less than 50 per cent occupancy, Union Railways minister Piyush Goyal said today, according to PTI. Goyal said that as a gift to passengers this festive season, railways reduces flexi fares from 1.5 to 1.4 times the base ticket fare. The news agency reported sources as saying that the scrapping of flexi-fares will take place in 15 trains with low occupancy and in 32 trains during lean season. The scheme will, however, continue in 101 trains.
