Indigo bomb threat: Man upset with airline makes hoax call

An IndiGo employee, working at its customer care desk in Pune airport, was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly making a hoax bomb call, which affected its Delhi-Mumbai flight schedule on May 2. The customer care executive was reportedly disgruntled as he was asked to improve his performance within three months or face action.
“The accused, Kartik Madhav Bhat (23), who was a ‘Customer Service Officer’ with IndiGo airlines, was caught after investigators traced the call he had made to Pune. He was arrested from his residence,” said Sanjay Bhatia, DCP, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

Investigating officers said Karthik was unhappy as he was pulled up by his company head to improve his performance or face action. On May 2, the IndiGo office at IGIA received a call, saying there was a bomb on one of its Delhi-Mumbai flights.
