On Saturday, according to the weather department, thunderstorm accompanied with lighting and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places are very likely over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe. Gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are expected at isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka. Thunderstorm accompanied with lighting is expected at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha.
On Friday, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places likely over Assam and Meghalaya, Kerala, Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Odisha and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Thunderstorm accompanied with lighting and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected at isolated places over Coastal and Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe and Lakshadweep. Gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are expected at isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Thunderstorm accompanied with lighting at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha.
Ahead of the onset of the Monsoon, has predicted heavy rainfall in Kerala. The weather department has declared a series of 'orange' and 'yellow' alerts for June 9 and 10, indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain ahead of the onset of monsoon, the Hindu Businessline reported.
