Considering the construction of the 22-km-long Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai is India’s longest under-construction sea-link, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to produce a short film on its construction using drones.
The work on MTHL started a couple of months ago and the MMRDA has said that the contractors involved will be making a short film during the construction phase considering it being a historical construction.
A MMRDA official, said, “We have some sort of provision in the contract wherein the contractors have to prepare a small video like film, and we expect to take help of drones in making the short film. However, there may be some issues regarding permissions for using drones considering the construction site is surrounded security installations but we will have to take the competent agencies in confidence for the same.”
The construction site of MTHL is in close vicinity of two major ports namely the Jawarharlal Nehru Port Trust and Mumbai Port along with the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre for which a security clearance was also taken from the Union Home Ministry before commencing work there.
