The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is going to introduce Rs 20 currency notes. The Apex Bank of India is all set to introduce the new Rs 20 bank note under the Mahatama Gandhi (New) series duly signed by the RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das. This new Rs 20 currency note will be completely different from the existing bank note as it is completely different in colour and size of the existing note rolling in the markets. According to the RBI, the new Rs 20 currency note will be a combination of yellow and green in colour and has Ellora caves in its background showcasing the cultural heritage of India. However, the central bank of India also made sure that even after the introduction of the new Rs 20 bank note, existing notes of the same value will continue to remain legal tender.
As per our sources at the RBI, the first consignment of the new Rs 20 bank notes have already reached the regional office of the RBI in Kanpur. Soon, these new Rs 20 ban notes would be made available at various other banks. RBI says that the new Rs 20 currency note will be of a unique colour which is a combination of yellow and green. It has Ellora caves in its background to showcase the cultural heritage of India. For information of our readers, the caves are in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, which has been listed in the global heritage list of UNESCO.

If we compare the new Rs 20 bank note with existing Rs 20 note, the new ones are around 20 per cent smaller in size. New Rs 20 currency note will have a standard size of 63mm x 129mm. Rest of the features in new notes have been kept in sync with the already existing ones.
Here are the top features of the new Rs 20 currency notes that each and every Indian must know about.
In front, the new Rs 20 notes has:
1] Rs 20 written in its see-through register;
2] 20 written in Devnagari script;
3] Mahatma Gandhi's picture in the middle;
4] RBI', 'भारत', 'INDIA' and '20' written in micro letters;
5] 'भारत' and 'RBI' written on the silver thread or the security thread;
6] Guarantee clause with the signature of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das; and
7] Ashok Stambh on the right side of the new Rs 20 notes.
On its back, the new Rs 20 notes has:
1] Year of print written on left;
2] Swachch Bharat logo and its slogan;
3] Language strip;
4] Ellora caves picture; and
5] 20 written in Devnagari script.
