The national capital was placed at 113th spot while Chennai was positioned at the 15th spot in the global ranking 2018. Globally, London was ranked number one in the list, followed by Japan's Tokyo. This is the second time in a row when London has secured the top spot in the list. London mayor Sadiq Khan told PTI that this is a fantastic news and doesn't come as a surprise.
"The fact that London has again been ranked the best city in the world in which to be a student is fantastic news – and is no surprise given that London is home to world-leading higher education institutions and a vibrant cultural life. This is further evidenced that London is open to students and talent from around the world," Khan said.
