Stop Aadhaar misuse: Know if someone is using your Unique ID
Only a few people know where their Aadhaar number has been used or who has used it for authentication.
There is an evergrowing concern over the misuse of Aadhaar. You must have used your Aadhaar at some place for availing essential services. But, how much of its confidentiality was kept? You would be hardly aware of this. Only a few people know where their Aadhaar number has been used or who has used it for authentication. However, there is a way to know when and where the Aadhaar card was used as proof. UIDAI, which manages the Aadhaar, has made such a provision, which can be used to ascertain when and where the use of Aadhaar was done.
How to find out
First of all, open the https://resident.uidai.gov.in link and click on the link for Aadhaar authentication history page. Now, fill in your Aadhaar number and security code. After that, click on 'Generate OTP', which will be received on your mobile. It is important that your mobile number on the UIDAI website is already verified.
After submitting OTP, you will see a few more options to find out the duration of the information and the number of transactions. After filling your OTP, click on 'Submit'. You will then be able to know the date, time and type of authentication request for the selected time period. However, the page will not tell you about who made the authentication request.
