Super-fast Talgo train completes final trail in less than 12 hours
Talgo departed from New Delhi station at 2.45 pm, while running at 150 kilo meter per hour. It reached at Mumbai station at 2.34 am within 12 hours in its final trial, as per ANI reports.
The Spanish-made Talgo train in its final trail completed Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani route in less than 12 hours on Sunday.
Talgo departed from New Delhi station at 2.45 pm, while running at 150 kilo meter per hour. It reached at Mumbai station at 2.34 am within 12 hours in its final trial, as per ANI reports.
In the earlier trials that has been conducted for Talgo, it couldn't manage to reach at the expected speed and time.
The tracks between Delhi and Mumbai cover about 1,400 km. Currently, the Rajdhani Express makes the journey in 16 hours. While Talgo is planned to reach the destination four hours early from Rajdhani Express.
Talgo- involves nine super light weight coaches consisting of two executive class cars, four chair cars, a cafeteria, a power car and a tail-end coach for staff and equipment. It can hit upto 200 km per hour.
With this technical and speed-test trails, the Indian railways will accumulate the results to determine whether to buy the Talgo coaches.
Railway officials on Zee Business, said the bids will also be sought from other manufacturers for similar high-speed light-weight coaches.
