That new Rs 10 note is fake? Trouble may lie in store for you
The Reserve Bank of India had issued Rs 10 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, bearing signature of Dr Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India.
New currency notes of Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200, Rs 500, Rs 2000 have been introduced after demonetisation, but taking advantage of paucity of new notes many cases came to fore wherein cheats tried to befool people with fake currency. In this crime, people were also cheated in the name of new Rs 10 notes which were introduced in January 2018.
Such cases not only took places in cities but also in the remote places in the country where culprits took advantage of common people's innocence. Looking at this, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued an advisory to let the people know about the new Rs 10 note.

So, how can you tell that you are not being fooled by miscreants into accepting wads of fake Rs 10 notes? Read on.
The new denomination has motif of Sun Temple, Konark on the reverse, depicting the country's cultural heritage. The base colour of the note is Chocolate Brown. The note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at the obverse and reverse.
RBI had also clarified that "all the banknotes in the denomination of Rs 10/- issued by the Reserve Bank in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender."
