7th Pay Commission: The Indian Institute of Astrophysics has invited online application from eligible candidates for the post of Mechanical Assistants, Technical Assistants (Electronics), Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and mechanic 'A.' The total number of vacancies for Mechanical Assistants is one which is reserved for the OBC (Other Backward Caste) category candidate, Technical Assistants (Electronics) has one job on offer and the post is unreserved, for UDCs total number of vacancies are 5 out of which 3 is unreserved and one each is reserved for OBC and SC candidates. For Mechanic 'A' opening, there are two openings and both are reserved for the OBC candidates.

All the jobs on offer are under the 7th pay Commission pay matrix and their grade level are also recommended by the 7th CPC and approved by the center. For Mechanical Assistants 7th CPC Level-5 is on offer, for Technical Assistants (Electronics) 7th CPC Level-5 is on offer, for UDCs 7th CPC Level-4 is on offer for the selected candidate while for Mechanic 'A'7th CPC Level-2 is on offer for the finally selected candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

For Mechanical Assistants post, the maximum age limit is 32 years while in educational qualification Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is the required criteria. For Technical Assistants (Electronics), the maximum age limit is 32 and from educational qualification perspective Diploma in Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering is required. For UDC applicants, the maximum age limit is 30 years and from academics perspective, Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent is the required criteria. For Mechanic 'A' applicants, maximum age limit is 30 years and from the educational qualification perspective, SSLC with two years NCTVT certificate course (ITI) in the trade of Millwright Mechanic/Machinist/Fitter is required pre-requisite.

The Last date for receipt of the online application is 30th September 2019 and receipt of printed online application along with all enclosures is 10th October 2019.
