7th Pay Commission latest news: The UPCS has issued notification for the post of Senior Scientific Officer Grade-I at the Directorate of Civilian Personnel, Ministry of Defence.
7th Pay Commission latest news: The Union Public Service Commission ( UPCS) has issued notification for the post of Senior Scientific Officer Grade-I in Group A Gazetted rank at the Directorate of Civilian Personnel, Ministry of Defence. The total number of vacancies is four out of which one is reserved for the OBC (Other Backward Caste) category applicant while three are reserved for the UR (Unreserved) category. The selected candidates will be appointed in Level-11 position and will get Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC. After selection, the selected candidate will have to serve on probation for one year. After successful completion of the probation period, the candidates will be given permanent employees' status. 7th Pay Commission Pay Scale
The selected candidate will be given Level-11 Pay Scale and their Pay Matrix will be as per the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations approved by the Central Government. This means the Pay Matrix of the selected candidate will be Rs 67,700 to Rs 2,08,700. Total emoluments excluding TA (Travel Allowance) and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 67,700/- plus DA ( Dearness Allowance) as applicable per month.

Age Limit
The maximum age limit for the general category applicant is 40 years of age while in the case of an OBC applicant, there is 3 years upper age relaxation means an OBC candidate applying for the post notified by the UPSC should not be more than 43 years. This upper age limit is relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant up to five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
Essential Qualification
From an educational point of view, an applicant should have a Master’s Degree from a recognized University in Physics / Applied Physics / Chemistry / Polymer Chemistry / Electronics or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from recognized University or Institute in Electronics/ Telecommunication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/Metallurgical/Mechanical/Aeronautical/Chemical. From experience perspective, an applicant should have five years experience in production, development or Quality Assurance in the field of calibration / armaments / electronics / aeronautical / underwater applications from organizations in Central / State Government/ Union Territory administration or autonomous or statutory organization / Public Sector Undertakings / University / Recognized Research Institution or private organization listed in the stock exchanges of India.
