Let us tell you that this is a 12-digit random number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the residents of India after successfully undergoing a thorough verification process. You need to link Aadhaar card to several services to make the best use of them. This includes linking it to your bank account which helps Aadhaar users access all banking services by their banks.
Usually, the process can be confusing. But, State Ban of India has made it easier for its customers by allowing them to link their Aadhaar card through bank's official website - onlinesbi.com. You just need to follow some basic steps for the same.
1. Go to the official State Bank of India website - www.onlinesbi.com.
2. Look for the tab that says "Link your Aadhaar number" under "My Accounts".
3. Select the Account number, input the Aadhaar number and Submit the details.
4. The next screen will confirm your mobile number by showing its last two digits.
5. Status of mapping will be advised to you on your registered mobile number.

In a separate development, SBI has slashed long-term Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates by 15 bps. The highest FD interest rates have been reduced from 6.25 per cent to 6.10 per cent. The new rates will be applicable from January 10 for tenor one year to less than two years, two years to less than the years, three years to less than five years and from five years to up to 10 years.
