SBI Online: Lost your debit card? Here’s how you can withdraw money from State Bank of India
One of the major advantages of using cardless cash withdrawal service is that it can be used for either sending money to someone, or remove cash from ATM.
It would be such a bummer if you decide to remove some cash from your nearest ATM but find that you have either forgotten your debit card or lost it the same day. It can frustrating especially when you are in need of urgent cash. But State Bank of India (SBI) helps you remove money even without the debit card. Recently, SBI launched ‘YONO Cash’ for cardless cash withdrawal at ATMs. One of the major advantages of using cardless cash withdrawal service is that it eliminates the need to carry a debit or credit card. This service can be used for either sending money to someone, or remove cash from ATM. In both cases, all you need is your smartphone, which will help you in notifying the status of the transaction.
However, when you lose your debit card you must first block it within 24 hours of time. It would be advisable to do so exactly the moment you realise that your debit card is lost. At SBI, you can now Block your SBI ATM cum Debit Card through OnlineSBI, in case your card is lost or stolen. Follow these simple steps to immediately block your card:
Step 1: Login to www.onlinesbi.com with your username and password.
Step 2: Select "ATM Card Services>Block ATM Card" link under the "e-Services" tab.
Step 3: Select the Account, under which you want to block your ATM cum Debit Card.
Step 4: All the Active and blocked cards will be displayed. You will be shown the first 4 and last 4 digits of the card(s).
Step 5: Select the Card, you wish to block and click "Submit". Verify the details and confirm.
Step 6: Select the mode of authentication as either SMS OTP or Profile Password.
Step 7: On the next screen, enter the OTP password /Profile password as chosen earlier and Click "Confirm".
Step 8: A success message would be displayed with a Ticket No. after successful blocking of your ATM cum Debit Card. Note this Ticket No. for future reference.
On Friday SBI via its Twitter account said, “Ever stopped at an ATM only to realise that you left your card at home? Don’t worry, where there is #YONOSBI, there is always YONO Cash! Download.”
Well, even though you have forgotten your card at home or lost it, you can still remove the money via cardless cash method at ATM. That is because, a new debit card takes generally 2-3 days time for getting active. Hence, here Yono cash can help you in both cases!
Here’s how!
Step 1 - Download SBI Yono.
Step 2 - Login in to the app.
Step 3 - Select Yono cash from these three option - 1) Yono Pay Option on the home screen, 2) Yono Pay option on the hamburger menu and 3) quick links on the home screen.
Step 4 - Select account number and enter the amount (default delivery channel is selected as ATM).
Step 5 - Set Yono Cash PIN for the transaction.
Then, here’s how you can use the Yono Cash PIN at ATM.
Step 1 - Select Yono Cash on the ATM screen.
Step 2 - Enter Yono Cash transaction number.
Step 3 - Enter the amount you need to remove.
Step 4 - Enter Yono Cash PIN.
Step 5 - Validate on the Yono Server.
Step 6 - Do the authentication of the transaction.
Step 7 - Collect Cash!
With SBI’s Yono cash, a customer can initiate the cash withdrawal process on the YONO app and set a six digit YONO Cash pin for the transaction.
They will also get a six digit reference number for the transaction on their registered mobile number via SMS. Further, the cash withdrawal has to be completed within the next 30 minutes at the nearest YONO Cash point using both PIN and the reference number received.
Now here, SBI is helping a customer withdraw cash from ATM. SBI did not mentioned any cost using this cardless cash withdrawal service using Yono cash.
