Want to invest in Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Intel, Google? This mutual fund makes it possible
This mutual fund investment gives exposure in companies like Amazon, Intel and Nike etc. Investors can benefit from the performance of international companies.
Mutual funds investment is mainly known for its fund managers investing the investors' money in the Indian stock market (if it is an equity mutual fund.) However, there are some mutual funds available in India that can give you returns from foreign companies' performance in various international bourses. These companies are, of course not listed on Indian stock markets. To get the benefit of such companies performances in the international share markets, mutual fund houses are offering international MFs that help you get the benefit from their performances on the various stock exchanges in the world.
Speaking on the international mutual funds Kartik Jhaveri, Manager — Wealth Management at Transcend Consultants said, "International mutual funds are not new in Indian markets. However, there are very few people who invest in such schemes. In my view, it gives an Indian investor to get the benefit of the performance of those companies that are not listed in the Indian stock market. Like any other mutual fund manager, an international mutual fund manager invests the investor's money in the international stock market."

Jhaveri reveals the reason why investors can look at these funds. He says that sometimes Indian indices don't perform but the global stock market outperforms Dalal Street. So, those who have invested in international mutual funds, they have chances of logging better returns on their investment from others who remain invested in Indian markets only.
Pankaj Mathpal, Managing Director, Optima Money Managers said, "Through international mutual funds investment, investors are benefited from international exposure in companies like Apple, Facebook, Google and Amazon etc. International mutual funds are like any other mutual funds but in such schemes, your fund manager invests your money in the international stock market rather than investing in the Indian share market."
Asked about an international mutual fund plan that he would suggest to an investor Pankaj recommended ICICI Prudential US Bluechip Equity Fund citing, "This scheme has exposure in companies like Amazon, Intel and Nike etc. Investors are benefited from the performance of international companies, which are not listed in India. It's ideal for portfolio diversification. Investors should have limited exposure to such schemes." Elaborating upon the returns accrued in ICICI Prudential US Bluechip Equity Fund Pankaj said that the scheme has delivered 10.33 per cent in the last one year, 16.45 per cent in last two years and 12.33 per cent in the last five years.
