ITR form 2 just released; here is how to file it
The Income Tax Department has just launched the income tax return (ITR) form 2 in java format. It is now available on official e-filing portal. With this, the department has activated a total of three Income Tax Returns (ITRs) that includes ITR-1 or Sahaj and ITR-4. Here are everything you need to know about ITR-2:
Who can fill ITR form 2: The ITR-2 is used by individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) who have income from any sources except income from profits and gains of business or profession, including NRIs.
Who Cannot file ITR form 2: Any individual or HUF having income from business or profession and individuals who are eligible to fill out the ITR-1 Form.
How to file ITR form 2 offline: Fill in the details in a physical paper form or furnish a bar-coded return.
How to file ITR form 2 online: Furnish the return electronically under digital signature.
How to file ITR form 2 online: One can also transmit the data electronically and then submit the verification of the return in Return Form ITR-V
ITR-2 is an annexure-less form i.e. you do not have to attach any documents when you send it, according to ClearTax.
