After JioPhone now Intex launches 4G feature phone priced at Rs 1500
Keeping up with the competition from Reliance Jio that launched its 4G enabled feature phones last month, Intex has launched its own feature phone variants with similar specifications.

Almost three weeks after Reliance Jio announced its JioPhone, Indian smartphone company, Intex Technologies launched its first 4G VoLTE enabled feature phone.
The company launched its Intex Turbo+ 4G and 2G feature phone as a part of its Navratna series with pricing of these phones ranging between Rs 700 to Rs 1500, a report by TelecomTalk said on Wednesday.
Intex Turbo+ 4G has similar specifications as that of the JioPhone which was unveiled at the Reliance Industries Ltd annual general meeting on July 21.
Turbo+ 4G comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and all-new KaiOS operating system, the report added.
The JioPhone also has a 2.4-inch display and supports 22 Indian languages and will allow users to speak to the phone as well as use the keyboard.
Two feature phones under the Turbo series – Intex Turbo Shine and Intex Turbo Selfie 18 were unveiled. Like the JioPhone, the former supports 22 Indian languages while the Turbo Selfi has a dual cameras and LED flash support, along with a slightly larger 1800mAh battery.
Specifications of the JioPhone battery were not revealed by the company at the time of the launch. However the phone will be available for beta testing on August 15 and pre-booking will begin from August 24.
JioPhone has been reported to be a single SIM phone whereas the Intex Turbo+ 4G is a dual-core chipset with 512MB RAM and 4G internal storage space.
Turbo+ 4G is said to have a rear 2megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing one as well. It packs a 2000mAh battery.
JioPhone has a 4-way navigation GPS and an additional SD card slot. Live TV and movies can be projected from JioPhone to TV via Jio cable.
Intex also launched its 2G feature phones – Intex ECO 102+, ECO 106+, and ECO Selfie.
They have a 1.8-inch QVGA display and a currency check feature.
Telecom operators Idea and Airtel have reportedly started mulling over partnering with phone makers to launch 4G enabled feature phones.
Date when the Turbo+ 4G phone will be available for sale is still awaited whereas the JioPhone is expected to be available in early September.
