After achieving massive success with its smartphones, the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is set to enter the smart TV segment as well, with its first device to be launched this year itself. The company has revealed the name and logo of the TV on its online community forum on Wednesday. And, you won't get any rewards for guessing the name as the smart TV from OnePlus will be known as OnePlus TV! The company explained that its OnePlus TV would be an extension of the brand's 'Never Settle' mindset.
"The global smart technology company constantly challenges conventional concepts of technology. The OnePlus TV is an extension of the brand`s `Never Settle` mindset. The OnePlus TV will feature smart capabilities coupled with the company`s `burden-less` design philosophy to offer users a smooth and connected experience," the company said in a statement.
A community expert posted on the forum: "Yes, we are going to call our very first smart TV product `OnePlus TV` -- simple yet to-the-point -- as we believe there`s no other name that can best represent our value, vision and pride than naming it with our own brand.

The company had started ‘OnePlus TV: You Name It’ contest last year where it had asked its fans to name the upcoming TV. Now, OnePlus has said that its logo design was inspired by “classic geometric progression” seen on classic art including the “ancient Hindu symbol, the mandala, and the famous ancient Greek temple, Heraion of Argos”.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that OnePlus could launch not one but four TVs this year - 43-inches, 55-inches, 65-inches, and 75-inches. The TVs could come with Bluetooth 5.0 support and 4K HDR displays. One of the TVs could also come with an OLED display panel.
In India, the OnePlus TVs might launch on Amazon as all the smartphones by the company also go on sale on the same e-commerce platform.
