OnePlus starts rolling out Android 10: These two smartphones to get it first

OnePlus has started rolling out the latest version of Android - Android 10. The OnePlus smartphones will get the update in a phased manner with OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro set to get it before any other device. The company confirmed in a forum post that over-the-air (OTA) update of OxygenOS version 10.0 based on Android 10 will be released for a limited number of users as of now. It added that other users will continue to get the update later. The latest version of the operating system was announced by Google earlier this month and is already available on all Pixel phones. 

Earlier known as Android Q, the OS comes with several new features. OnePlus had announced that Open Beta build based on Android 10 will be available for OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 users. It had even sought feedback from OnePlus 7 series users who were on the previous versions to improve key areas.

The smartphone manufacturer has already announced that the operating system will be made available for all users after ensuring that there are no critical bugs. The company has advised against using VPN to download the build as the update is being pushed out randomly and is not based on regions.

Among key changes made by OnePlus is a new Game Space feature which offers a better gaming experience to users. The Smart Display will also show information based on specific times, locations and events. This can be enabled from Ambient Display option in Settings. There will also be new customisation feature in Settings that will allow users to choose icon shapes for Quick Settings.

The update also comes at a time when OnePlus is set to launch its latest smartphone - OnePlus 7T - in India. In a statement released last week, OnePlus said that the new OnePlus products will again feature the brand’s signature ‘Fast and Smooth’ experience, giving users a super-smooth experience like never before. The new smartphone is set to be launched on 26th September 2019 at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi. The OnePlus 7T Series Launch Event will take place at the Magazine London Theater in London on 10th October 2019.
