Xiaomi to launch Mi 6, Mi 6 Plus smartphones today; here's what to expect
Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi 6 Plus and Mi Max 2 may also be unveiled at the same even too.
Xiaomi will launch its latest smartphone the Mi 6 today. The launch even will be held at an event in Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium and is scheduled to take place at 11:30am IST. Along with the Mi 6, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi 6 Plus and Mi Max 2 may also be unveiled at the same even too.

It will be streaming the event live on the company's official website. Some of the specifications that Xiaomi's Mi 6 is expected to have include dual rear cameras and a 6GB RAM. The Mi 6 is expected to come in two variants ie one with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, one with 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The Mi 6 Plus Plus, which is a bigger variant is expected to come with a 6GB RAM and with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB internal memory variants.
One of biggest highlights of Xiaomi's Mi 6 is that has the latest Snapdragon 835 processor integration. The Mi 6 will replace the Mi 5 and is said to come with much better upgrades. While the processor is much faster, it is also expected to have a dual-edge curved display in one of its premium variants.
Some of the other features include a 5.1 inch full HD display, 12 megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording and an 8 megapixel front camera which is also capable of recording 4K videos. It will also run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
The Mi 6 Plus is expected to have a Quad HD 2K OLED display with dual curved edges and a dual camera setup. Both the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus is expected to come with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 technology that supports fast charging capabilities. The Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus will also come with a 4000mAh battery.
The Mi Max 2 is expected to come in two variants the 4GB RAM with Snapdragon 626 SoC processor and 6GB RAM with Snapdragon 660 SoC processor. It is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and have a 6.44 inch full HD display. It will have a large 5000mAh battery. It is expected to feature a 12 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor and 5 megapixel camera in the front.
In terms of pricing the Mi 6 64GB storage is expected to be priced at CNY 2,199 (around Rs 20,500) and the 128GB variant is expected to be priced at CNY 2,599 (around Rs 24,300). The Mi 6 Plus 64BG variant is expected to priced at CNY 2,699 (around Rs 25,000), 128GB variant for CNY 3,099 (around Rs 28,990) and 256GB variant for CNY 3,699 (around Rs 34,600).
The Mi Max 2 is expected to priced between CNY 1,499 (around Rs 14,000) and CNY 1,699 (around Rs 15,900).
