Companies have denied the shell allegation imposed by the Sebi on August 07, 2017. A list of 331 companies have been suspected as shell companies.
The 31-scrip index was trading at 31,685.30 down over 112 points or 0.35%, while the 51-scrip index tumbled by 33 points or 0.33% trading at 9,875.05.
The leading bourse would report to the Sebi about the 48 companies after collecting the information. Out of the 48 firms, ten entities had already been suspended before the Sebi's directive.
