Avengers: Endgame box office collection: Marvel's latest superhero saga, Avengers: Endgame is witnessing an unprecedented response from across the globe. While in India, the advance bookings have set the film on course for a bumper opening, the Chinese market is also set for a staggering start. In fact, the Marvel flick has already raked in a massive near Rs 200 crore in China paid previews, ahead of the release. One of the most awaited films of 2019, Avengers: Endgame has taken a flying start at the China Box office with a staggering USD 27.79 million [Rs. 193.87 cr] coming in from the first day of paid previews. The official release of the film is set for April 26, Friday.
With this, the film has already claimed the top slot as the daily highest grosser at the China Box office, and is expected to grow even further when normal screenings commence. Avengers: Endgame is the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and acts as the climax to the decade-long saga.
In India, the film has seen an equal interest from fans and is expected to be the biggest Hollywood release till date. Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel told Zee Business Online that Avengers: Endgame is expected to earn a minimum of Rs 40 crore on its opening day. The film is expected to challenge the collections of some big Indian movies, but Kadel believes that it is unlikely to break the opening day collection of Baahubali 2 or Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan.
The only challenge for Avengers: Endgame in India is that it is releasing only on 2600 screens which way less than what some Indian films get. "Avengers Endgame is not getting released on many single screens and 2K screen. This is why it has got just over 2600 non-2K screens. Therefore, even if you increase the number of shows, their capacity would be around Rs 45 crore. Thus, the movie may earn a maximum of Rs 42 crore on day 1," said Kadel.
Despite this, a Rs 100 crore weekend is a possibility. Earlier, movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted that the film could have a historic start in India.
"#AvengersEndgame advance booking is unheard of, unimaginable and unprecedented... Much, much better than several #Hindi biggies that opened in 2018 and 2019... Eyes a record-breaking, historic start in #India... Dear BO records, get ready to be smashed and shattered!" he had tweeted.
