Big feat for Hyundai! Venue beats Maruti Brezza by massive margin to gain top spot among SUVs in India

In what comes as a massive feat for South Korean car maker Hyundai, its first internet car, Venue has beaten Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza by a massive margin to gain top spot among SUVs in India. The Vitara Brezza has been in the top position for a very long time now but managed to sell just 5302 units in July. On the other hand, the recently launched Hyundai Venue was purchased by 9585 customers in the same month, leaving Brezza behind by 4283 units. This doesn't come as a surprise as the company had announced that it had received 50,000 bookings for the Venue only 60 days after being launched.

In a statement released in May end, Vikas Jain, Nation Sales Head, Hyundai Motor India Ltd had said, "Hyundai VENUE is the Talk of the Town as our dealerships are witnessing highest-ever traction and footfalls. We are overwhelmed with the response as customers are spending maximum time inside the cabin experiencing the new technology and connectivity features. Hyundai VENUE is paving the path of future and connected mobility solutions in India and we further thank our customers for choosing a Happy Life with VENUE."

The Hyundai Venue price in India has been set between Rs 6.5-11.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Hyundai Venue, which made its global debut in New Delhi, takes on Tata Motors' Nexon, Ford's EcoSport and Mahindra's XUV300, apart from Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza. All these cars are priced between Rs 6.48-11.99 lakh.

Hyundai Venue comes with three engine options -- 1 litre turbo and 1.2 litre petrol besides a 1.4 litre diesel. The Venue is available in a total of 13 variants including five diesel and eight petrol variants across four trim levels – E, S, SX, and SX(0). The petrol variants are priced between Rs 6.5 -11.1 lakh, while the diesel trims are tagged between Rs 7.75-10.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Identifying India as a key centre in its strategy to gain leadership in global mobility leadership, Hyundai has invested USD 100 million (over Rs 690 crore) in four years to develop Venue.
